BE LOVE. BE YOU.
The body is our vehicle to carry out our divine assignments. Be Love prioritizes taking care of our bodies to recognize and behave as if our bodies are as important to our wellbeing as our mental, emotional, and spiritual fitness.

bE love holistic wellness: Black Maternal Health
Be Love Holistic Wellness Program
Be Love Holistic Wellness Program is a 9-week Sister Circle dedicated to the health and healing of Black women, ages 18-45, who have experienced pregnancy loss or early infant death.
This free program begins in January 2021 with both virtual and in-person meetings planned (adhering to Covid-19 guidelines for safe social gathering).
During the sister circles, sistas will have an opportunity to:
1) share and process their experiences with pregnancy/infant loss in safe space;
2) explore trauma-informed tools and strategies for healing from pregnancy/infant loss from an African-centered perspective; and,
3) learn the importance and benefits of physical fitness in healing mind, body, and spirit after pregnancy/infant loss.
Each session will include a 30-minute fitness activity. Participants will be provided complimentary fitness equipment to encourage physical fitness in their daily lives during and after the program. Accommodations will be made for sistas with physical restrictions and disabilities.
Ultimately, our goal is to prevent/intervene in prolonged suffering that often results from pregnancy loss using African-centered, culturally-relevant, trauma-informed, holistic strategies, and raise awareness about Black maternal health disparities, in general.
Emphasizing the therapeutic value of physical fitness to heal the mind, body and spirit of Black Women
Be Love Holistic is intentional about:
Demonstrating the ways society and culture influence Black women’s perspectives, beliefs, behaviors, and practices regarding our health and fitness.
Affirming and elevating Black womanhood, Black motherhood, and Black women’s overall health and well-being.
Improving Black women think about our bodies, health, fitness, and overall well-being, and practical actions and strategies to optimize our holistic health.
Exploring viable strategies to take back control of our bodies in a world that devalues our physical existence and thrive instead of just survive
We seek answers to questions like:
How do we process our grief from child loss in the midst of all the other battles we are fighting because we are Black women?
How do we take back control of our bodies in a world that devalues our physical existence?
How do we thrive instead of just survive?
